After suffering a spinal injury in 2011, he rebuilt his life and career through cooking—and transformed that experience into Culinary Therapy, a program that now reaches senior centers, healthcare facilities, and culinary schools throughout New Jersey.
“Every time I put on my chef coat, I’m reminded that I’m still a professional and that I still have something valuable to give,” Cardie says. “Looking the part helps me feel the part.”
